Wedding photography courses

Many of the courses advertised in wedding photography are being given by unqualified photographers with not much experience.

Barrett & Coe photography course tutors have more than 100 years experience of wedding photography between them and have won countless awards both nationally and internationally. Barrett & Coe photographers have been commissioned to take more than 12,000 weddings in the last 40 years.

We were one of the first to offer colour weddings in the 1970’s, Reportage in the early 1980’s and digital in the new millennium. Barrett & Coe have always been at the cutting-edge of contemporary wedding photography leading the way in innovative and creative images.

During that time Barrett & Coe have trained hundreds of wedding photographers and are the most experienced trainers of wedding photography. This has been recognised by many within the industry including the NVQ board that commissioned us to write the first NVQ diploma in Social photography.

We are also recognised by the Master Photographers Association (MPA) who recommend and support our wedding photography training. In 2010 we received a Presidential Award in recognition of our outstanding contribution to the Master Photographers Asscocation and the well-being of the photographic industry in 2010. This was followed by a Long Service Award in 2011 by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP)

Andrew Coe

Andrew Coe is great grandson of Albert Edward Coe who founded the Coe photography businesses 150 years ago. He is recognised as one of the leading teachers of wedding and portrait photography in the UK having been commissioned by City & Guilds to write the first module for the Higher National NVQ Diploma in Portrait in this field. He has also been commissioned to give seminars in New York, Las Vegas, Madrid, Cologne and many other international venues. He owns the franchise for the largest group of wedding and portrait studios in the UK which has photography contracts with many national retailers and other major brand names. He founded the first chain of one hour mini labs in the UK (all with wedding and portrait studios attached), the largest advertising and commercial studio in East Anglia, a leading professional colour lab and has trained more people to become full time photographers than anyone else in the UK.
