We are currently doing a graduation with a team of seven photographers and six admin staff. Yesterday one of the photographers put his camera down for a few seconds in order to arrange a graduate and their family and the camera was stolen. On the card were 16 family groups for which they had already paid. Luckily this happened just after lunch and all the morning sittings had been downloaded. Thanks to having most of the mobile phone numbers and calling and texting we managed to get all except one family back….one were already on their way to Dubai. So it is important to remember that whenever photographers are in a public place the possibility of theft is always there. The equipment can always be replaced on insurance but the images on the card maybe impossible to retake depending on the job. Always keep hold of your camera at weddings or similar otherwise it may disappear in the blink of an eyelid in front of lots of people.
