On Sunday we were pleased to welcome Trevor Lewis, National Chairman of the MPA and Principal Assessor to our Wedding and Portrait course days. He kindly presented the Loxley Colour prizes to students who topped the print judging competition.

Students were shown how to select images for qualifications and awards by reference to the CLEPS scoring system. Images are assessed separately in the five categories

Composition
Lighting
Expression
Posing
Space

During this session a number of images are judged after animated discussion and exchange of opinions! Students scoring closest to our tutors win vouchers to spend a Loxley Colour, which makes for a competitive and enjoyable couple of hours!

Student Robert Turner, receiving £50 of Loxley Colour Vouchers
Student Martina Mcarthy, receiving £50 of Loxley Colour Vouchers
One really interesting fact that he told us was about a recent case where a claim of £20,000 had been made against a photographer who did not show all of the images to his customer after a wedding.
He had deleted about 700! The moral of the story is, don’t delete your images in case you need them!
Trevor had an opportunity to speak to most of the students who were all very appreciative of the course content and Trevor’s visit. Pictured below are some of the students that attended on Sunday.
