Ofcom’s decision to allow Royal Mail to increase the price of postage stamps has caused quite a stir amongst our ex students who run their own Barrett & Coe studio.

Here are some of the comments from our members Facebook group:

Guys – worth noting that the cost of stamps and any other mailing goes up in April – not sure how much but I hear it could be a lot. Note that iMail and UK Mail will surely have to follow suit. It may be worth front loading on stamps as much as you can in March – I will be.

Thanks for the tip.

imail prices are going up on 1st April….

Time to buy some stamps! Just seen the increases from 30 April, first class 60p, second 50p. 30% increase in mailing costs.

When you think about it – someone collecting a letter from close to your house and transporting it through the door of someone anywhere in the country (28 million homes) within 24/48 hours for 60p is still amazing isn’t it ? – I pad £3 quid for a coffee yesterday…. (singing…Always look on the bright side of life…. etc ))

I intend to make a bulk purchase based on the tip off :-)
