Course success

Bill Tompkins Sara White

Mhari-Clare Green Anne Haslam
This weekend the students on the Option 1 Wedding and Portrait courses who first joined us in July, had their final exam and results day. The exam day on Saturday began at 8.30am when all the students arrived to see previous grade one panels from the practical session. We then moved on to our local Marriott 4* Hotel where we book out all of the conference rooms to recreate family, wedding and makeover studios.
With 30 models in total, the students have a time limit to complete all of the shots taught on the course, followed by a detailed theory and written exam in the afternoon.
In the evening, the written papers are scored and all the prints are judged.
At the end of Sunday, after a critique and marketing session, we hand out the certificates and for the first time ever there were three grade one's on the wedding course! Normally less than 10% achieve this level.
Congratulations to the three:
Bill Tompkins who has just opened a studio in Croydon.
Sarah White who is taking on the Norwich franchise.
Mhari Clare Green who is about to open a studio in Glasgow.
Also congratulations to Anne Haslam, Sheffield franchisee, who gained a grade one on the Portrait course, with an unheard of 90% in the practical exam! She has just emailed me:"Just really had to let you know ...I've just got home and checked my emails and I've won a Silver and three Bronze awards for photographs I entered in the SWPP November competition!!! This, on top of getting a level 1 on the Portrait course this weekend, has really made my day and given me a much needed confidence boost - am ready to take on the world. Also I have to say that I've really enjoyed this weekend, exam and all. Thank you so much to you and Brian and everyone at Norwich."
Thanks a lot Anne and well done.
